Students make Mattresses out of Milk Bags at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School

Posted On Wednesday December 13, 2017

Since fall, intermediate students, Ryleigh Horlock, Makenna Leeson, Cassandra Cormaggi, Kylie McGilley at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School have been collecting milk bags. The milk bags will be used to create mats by people committed to make a difference, like our very own Mrs. Chong.

Mrs. Jeannie Chong, Early Childhood Educator at the school crocheted this mat that was created from milk bags like the kind we are collecting!  The mats offer people without beds, an invaluable washable and durable alternative to sleeping on the cold and damp ground.  It takes approximately 400 milk bags to make an adult sized mat.

BRAVO to the St. Elizabeth Seton school community and Mrs. Chong for your service to help others!
