Training for Student Mentors at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School

Posted On Monday March 05, 2018

Last week, 18 Grade 7 mentors at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School were trained by Raven Murphy to be storytellers and facilitators for the Kindergarten to Grade 6 students as they continued the conversation around bullying and inclusivity. Raven worked with them as they figured out the best way to tell the students the story, written by Raven, “Sammy the Skrunk”.

A beautiful tale about inclusivity, acceptance, kindness and the Métis culture. Storytellers created their own talking sticks and made Métis acts of kindness braids to gift to two students selected from each grade to join in a culminating activity including learning a Métis dance.

We look forward to student mentors continuing the conversation and gifting of braids to students at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School that live the Gospel messages of kindness, respect and caring for others.
